Fantastic Instructor!

My husband and I went to Al for lessons in preparation for our Hawaii
vacation. My husband was afraid of the water and didn’t want another vacation
where he sat on the beach while I had all the fun. He had previously we
spent a bundle on semi-private classes for adults who are afraid of the
water to no avail. My H worked with Al for about two months and learned
various swimming strokes and techniques and the proper use of equipment,
including snorkels, masks, paddle boards, fins, wetsuits, etc. My H was so
excited about his progress that I signed up with Al as well. I have always loved
water but still wound up learning a great deal, refining my swimming
strokes, breathing techniques, etc. Al loves all water sports. When we
expressed an interest in scuba, Al generously spent a whole Saturday with us,
tanks and BCD's in tow, in a friend’s pool teaching us the basics. Our
vacation was wonderful. We swam, snorkeled and even got our first scuba
certification together. Amazing! I do not believe this would have been possible
had it not been for Al’s excellent instruction. Al is very keen on safety
and I feel it was this emphasis on safety that helped my husband overcome
his lifelong fear of water because he FELT safer in the water and
consequently, much more confident in the water. Al is very thorough and takes pains
to make sure you understand each step of what he is teaching you prior to
going on to the next step. In between classes, we would receive emails
reinforcing what we learned. We were so pleased with our experience that we
signed up our 16 year old for lessons as the only exercise our son was
getting was pushing the buttons on the video game controller. His physical
condition has improved to the point that Al's now taking him out to the marina
and he can swim 3,000 yards non-stop. Our so has passed the lifeguard
certification swimming requirements testing and will be getting his lifeguard
certification this month. Make no mistake. Al’s lessons are not
lightweight. He will work you out, he wants you to give it your best, but he is also
sensitive to what your needs are, is not pushy, gives positive
reinforcement, and takes the time to develop one-on-one relationships with his
students. I would not hesitate to recommend this knowledgeable and capable
instructor to ANYONE. You will learn everything you need to know and more and
have a great time doing it.

Hi everyone my name is Joao Polastri and I am from brazil.I would like to take the time to tell you about a surf instructor that I chose to learn from here at While I was in Brazil on family stuff I made the choice to take up the sport of surfing. I had learned the sport of swimming when I was in El Cerrito Califorina from a instructor that taught me out of Richmond ca. I had learned that the web site is becoming and that it offers instruction in all kinds of sports. I was very pleased to find out that the web site offered information in the how to learn how to surf category. I contacted to learn surfing while in Brazil and found a instructor that contacted me from the US. To my surprise the instructor was very positive the result of a lifelong passion for teaching from beginners to the collegiates athletes. The experince is rewarding and fun.The cost is the lowest I could find and is worth every penny, you have got to try it. So if you are like me and are looking for a instructor that will make the experince of the sport of surfing fun and has a positive educational style and approach. You should give this teacher Al a try, every thing you can think of and more will be explained and tought to you by this great and knowledgeable instructor.
